Georgetown Prep claims seventh straight IAC golf title

At the Interstate Athletic Conference golf championship on Thursday, Georgetown Prep junior Liam Chalfant shot a 2-over-par 74 to secure the individual title and lead the Little Hoyas to their seventh consecutive IAC team victory. Playing on a challenging course at P.B. Dye Golf Club, Prep finished with a team total of 393, 13 strokes ahead of second-place Landon at 406, with Episcopal finishing in third with a total of 424.

Chalfant, playing from the No. 4 spot, set the tone early with steady pars and key birdies, helping Georgetown Prep place four players in the top five. Senior Jordan Selby and junior Finn Marino tied for third with rounds of 78, one stroke behind Landon sophomore Kyle Dyer in second. Prep and Landon qualified for next week's Washington Metro championships, also at P.B. Dye, where the IAC schools will battle the top two finishers in the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference.
