Georgetown Prep wins 24th consecutive IAC swimming title
On Thursday at Georgetown Prep's aquatic center, the Hoyas captured their 24th straight Interstate Athletic Conference swimming championship, scoring 567 points to edge out St. Albans (514). The victory was hard-earned, as Georgetown Prep trailed St. Albans by 10 points midway through the meet.
Prep sophomore Griffin Oehler (100 breaststroke and 200 IM) and junior Andrew Vanas (100 free and 50 free) each won two individual events and led two relay teams to victory. Hoyas' swimmers also set three IAC records - Vanas in the 50 free, Oehler in the 200 individual medley, and the team of Vanas, Oehler, Jason Kratz, and Johnny Hughes in the 200 medley relay.
