Bullis rallies to repeat as IAC Track & Field Champions
Bullis overcame an early 23-point deficit to win IAC Track & Field Championships at Saturday at The Bullis School. The Bulldogs finished with 199 points ahead o St. Albans (181) to win their second straight IAC title.
Bullis dominated the sprints, led by standout senior Quincy Wilson, who broke the 200-meter and 400-meter meet records. Teammates Cameron Homer and Connor Salmin also broke the 200 record in the same heat, while Homer and Wilson shattered the 400-meter record set in 1978, with Wilson finishing first in 45.65 seconds. The Bulldogs placed top-three in every sprint event and set another meet record in the 4x100 meter relay. Senior Mickey Green surprised by winning the triple jump in his first attempt, and Stanford-bound senior Colin Abrams contributed with a win in the 800 and a second-place finish in the 1,600.
Two other IAC records fell during the meet. St. Albans senior Sebi Hume set the 1600-meter record in 4:14.61. On Day 1 of the Championships on Thursday, St. Albans won the 4x800-meter relay in 7:52.57, with a dramatic last-lap comeback to overtake Bullis, who also broke the meet record last set in 2009 by St. Albans.
