Bullis wins IAC championship in thriller over Georgetown Prep

On Saturday in Potomac, Bullis defeated Georgetown Prep 55-53 to win their 3rd consecutive IAC basketball championship. The Hoyas, led by senior guard Patrick McDonough, jumped out to an early 14-3 lead, but the Bulldogs ended the first quarter with a 14-4 run. Following a back-and-forth second half, Georgetown Prep (14-13) had a chance to win with eight seconds left, but a potential game-winning shot missed as time expired.

Senior guard Adrien Stevens, the Marquette-bound IAC Player of the Year, led the Bulldogs with 16 points, and McDonough scored a game-high 17 points for the Hoyas.

The win secured a third straight season of IAC regular season and tournament titles for Bullis. Both teams now enter the Maryland Private School State Basketball Tournament beginning this week.
